Where exactly is the Bickham Coal Mine being proposed?
Along the New England Highway.
Next to the Pages River.
Downstream of Murrurundi and Blandford.
Just north âeast of Burning Mountain Nature Reserve, listed on the Register of the National Estate (this is the only naturally occurring burning coal seam in Australia and one of only three in the world);
Upstream of Cameron's Gorge Nature Reserve.
Upstream of the epicenter of the Upper Hunter Shire's multi billion dollar thoroughbred industry.

What is the geography of the area?
Geologically, the site is complex with major and inferred fault lines and folds running through and around the site.
What is the Pages River?
A tributary of the Hunter River.
It starts at Towarri national park, west of Murrurundi.
And flows into the Hunter River below Glenbawn Dam.
It's an unregulated river.
It's been identified as having high conservation value by the NSW Government.
Have Bickham Coal rehabilitated the site after they took out their sample?
When Bickham Coal got permission to dig their enormous hole beside the Pages River for a âtestâ sample, they were required to rehabilitate the area. If they were not proceeding they were to fill the hole back in.
They accepted this undertaking as being central to the terms and conditions.
Why have they done absolutely nothing?
